The Gospel—A Brief Overview in 5 Sentences

God: There is a great and holy God

Who has created us and everything in the world,

Who has revealed Himself to us in His Word, the Bible,

Who consequently has a claim on our lives.

Need: We have failed to give God the love, respect, and obedience He deserves, thus severing our relationship with Him and making us guilty before Him.

Christ: God has provided, at His own expense, a means by which we can be born again and enter into new life through His own Son Jesus Christ, who serves as a perfect mediator, bringing us into a right relationship with Himself.

Grace: God is gracious and invites us to come to Him and experience new life as a free gift through faith and trust in Him.

Glory:  God is gloriously at work in this world creating a new people for Himself—a people who have discovered the purpose for which God created us: namely, that we may glorify Him and enjoy Him forever.
